Requirements Needed to Get Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC)

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is well known when it comes to helping Filipino Citizens since there’s a lot of Filipinos who really need help and one of them is the indigent senior citizens. Why? because due to being old, there are things they weren’t able to do anymore unlike when they were still young, just like going to work for instance. They were not able to work anymore and earn for their daily living, that is why they need financial assistance from our Government.

Good thing we have REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9994.
“AN ACT GRANTING ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AND PRIVILEGES TO SENIOR CITIZENS, FURTHER AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7432, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS “AN ACT TO MAXIMIZE THE CONTRIBUTION OF SENIOR CITIZENS TO NATION BUILDING, GRANT BENEFITS AND SPECIAL PRIVILEGES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”

Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 aims to improve the living condition of the indigent senior citizens here in the Philippines. In addition, DSWS seeks to help 3.8 million senior citizens and they have allotted 23 Billion budget for this year’s benefit and the budget is still growing as years pass by. So if you’re one of a Senior Citizen here in the Philippines this might help you get your pension from DSWD.

Who are Eligible to Apply for the SPISC?

  • 60 years old and above
  • Ill or Disabled Senior Citizen
  • No regular income
  • No support from family or relatives
  • No pensions from Private Government Institutions

How much will they get?

The Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens will provide monthly stipend amounting to Php 500 to augment the daily subsistence and other medical needs of indigent senior citizens here in the Philippines.

What are the Requirements Needed?

  • Birth Certificate
  • Office of the Senior Citizens Affair ID
  • 1 valid Government ID

Once all you have the requirements needed and you check the eligibility requirements and you are eligible. Kindly go to their office and submit your requirements, so that they will check and verify all your documents. Once done with the verification and if you’re approved you will be able to take advantage of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens that they give.
